The project

timetravel.fyi is a free art and video-discovery project. It presents links, public metadata, thumbnails, and embedded YouTube videos organized by time and city. It is independent of YouTube and is not an official historical archive.

Playback, availability, advertising, and regional restrictions are controlled by YouTube and the uploader. Your use of the embedded player is also subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service. No subscription or purchase is required by this website.

Dates, places, and context

An upload date may differ from the date a video was filmed. Where a filming date is displayed, it is based on reviewed uploader descriptions or other stated metadata, not independent certification. City labels are curated interpretations of the available information. Titles, views, and availability may change. A camera-style filename does not prove that a video is unedited.

Creators and removal requests

Videos and their associated rights belong to their respective rights holders. Embedding a video does not transfer ownership or grant permission to download, copy, or reuse it outside the rights and permissions that otherwise apply.

If a listed video affects your copyright, privacy, or other rights, please use Contact and choose “Video removal.” Include the video URL or ID and enough information to explain the request. Removing a listing here does not remove the original video from YouTube; reports about the original upload should also go to YouTube.

Using the site

Please use the site lawfully. Do not attack or disrupt it, attempt unauthorized access, bypass its security controls, or send spam or unlawful material through Contact. Do not use the discovery tools to harass people shown in videos.

When you contact us, provide a reply address you are entitled to use and information relevant to your request. You keep ownership of your message; we process it to handle that request as explained in the Privacy page.

Availability and responsibility

The collection and features may change, and videos may disappear or fail to play. The site is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted access or historical accuracy. Any limitation is subject to applicable law. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.
